Our client is interested in creating a modern home on a steep site in West Seattle with a jaw dropping view to the West. Because of the steep site we have proposed a "terraced garage" at the front of the property with the house located on a small plateau about half way up the site. The steep site requires extensive shoring along with a catchment wall at the back of the house to reduce the impacts of further earth movement. The house is 2,261 square feet on three levels plus a generous roof deck. The entry along with two bedrooms and a bath are on the lower level. The middle level has the living, kitchen, and a two-story dining room. The top level has the master suite along with an extra bedroom. |
